General
Coinbase and Dwolla currently charge no transaction fees. Both companies reserve the right to create a per transaction fee in the future.
Shift's cardholder agreement allows Shift to charge the fees listed below.

The Shift Card enables users to spend funds from any store of value he/she controls. We are working hard to enable users to connect everything from bank, airline mile, and alternative currency accounts to their Shift Card.
At this time, only residents of the United States may apply for a Shift Card.
In order to spend bitcoin via Coinbase, cardholders must reside in one of the following U.S. states:

The Shift Card is a VISA card. It works everywhere VISA is accepted. It works offline, online, and internationally. You can use the Card for everyday purchases at all your favorite merchants and at ATMs for cash withdrawals.
Currently, the daily limit is $1,000 USD. Feel free to contact support@shiftpayments.com if you would like to increase your daily spending limit.
If you're spending from your Dwolla account, there is a daily ATM withdrawal limit of $500.
If you're spending from your Coinbase account, there is a daily ATM withdrawal limit of $200.

At Shift we go to great lengths to keep all of your sensitive information safe.
Shift does not save or store your Social Security Number, Date of Birth or Home Address to disk.
Passwords and OAuth tokens are stored using bank level AES-256 encryption on our servers. In addition, all traffic goes over SSL to prevent third parties from eavesdropping on your connection. Employee access is heavily restricted and we require background checks on all employees.

Customer
Shift Cards take 5-7 business days to arrive at your door. Cards are mailed out every Monday-Friday at around 5pm PST. If you ordered after this time your card will ship the following business day.
Shift is integrated with VISA and Coinbase in a way that can result in more than one Coinbase bitcoin transaction for a single purchase made with the Shift Card.
To avoid sending Coinbase users a series of emails for a single Shift Card transaction, Coinbase Shift Card purchases do not trigger Coinbase transaction emails at this time. Please enable push, SMS, and/or email notifications from the Shift mobile app to be alerted whenever a purchase is made with your Shift Card.

Like any credit or debit card, the Shift Card must be activated prior to use. The Shift Card can be activated from within the Shift companion mobile app or by calling 800-897-0717.
You may see more than one Coinbase or Dwolla transaction for each purchase you make with your Shift Card.
To prevent fraud, some merchants such as rental car agencies, gas stations and restaurants notify the VISA network to 'hold' a dollar amount that is more than what may be presented on your initial bill. Therefore, your Coinbase or Dwolla account may be temporarily debited for more than you expected. As the final transaction amount is settled over the VISA network (usually within 24 hours), Shift immediately settles up, debiting or crediting your Coinbase or Dwolla account to match your final bill.

Your card PIN is by default set to the last four digits of the phone number you signed up with. You can change your PIN by calling 800-897-0717.
Card payments typically involve two events: authorization and settlement. The authorization involves three checks:
- Validates the card against a list of lost/stolen/blocked accounts
- Validates the account against velocity and daily limits
- Validates the cardholder for sufficient funds. If any of the three checks fail, the transaction is declined
In the case of a refund, we credit your funding source with the exact USD amount of the refund.
The Shift Card comes with the same consumer protections as any standard debit card. If you need to dispute a charge, please contact us at support@shiftpayments.com or call 800-897-0717.
The Shift Card is a standard VISA debit card (not a prepaid product). Due to the Shift Card's unique ability to spend different stores of value and currencies, we do not yet offer the ability for funds to be pushed or added to the Shift Card.
